Welcome to Tiger Tutoring!

Tiger Tutoring is a free service for all Undergraduate Holy Family students and is here to help you succeed in your classes. 

Before registering, please read the Student and Tutor's Rights and Responsibilities:

I understand that in order to use the services offered by Tiger Tutoring, I must:

  • Tiger Tutoring through this site is only available IN PERSON.
  • Be aware that while walk-ins are welcome, preference is given to students with scheduled appointments;
  • Understand that tutoring sessions are limited to 2 hours per week for in person-tutoring. Any exceptions must be made by the Director of Tiger Tutoring;
  • Honor my appointment time by not being late or failing to keep the appointment;
  • Make every effort to contact Tiger Tutoring within 3 hours of my scheduled appointment if I must cancel and/or reschedule;
  • Recognize that if there is a habitual pattern of failing to keep appointments and not contacting Tiger Tutoring in advance, I will be required to meet with the tutor, so that the situation can be addressed;
  • Come to tutoring appointment PREPARED with appropriate texts, class notes, assignments attempted, pen/pencil;
  • Recognize that the tutor's role is to give me insights into lesson, concepts, and/or procedures, not to do the work for me; tutors are not to help with completion of any take home or online test, quizzes, or exams. 
  • Complete periodic evaluations of the tutorial services;
  • Contact the Director of Tiger Tutoring at amccue@holyfamily.edu with any concerns I have regarding the tutoring process;
  • Be aware that two or more students can be tutored at the same time by the same tutor if the material to be covered for each is the same or is compatible.
  • Understand that students may remain in Tiger Tutoring beyond the time allotted for the tutoring session with the provision that if a walk-in comes, Student Support will interrupt the extended session so that the walk-in can be accommodated.


I also recognize that the tutors have responsibilities as well, and must:

  • Be on time and prepared for each appointment;
  • Work with students, faculty, and staff in an encouraging, non-judgmental manner;
  • Maintain confidentiality about the tutoring relationship and ensure that the release of any information about the student is given only to appropriate Holy Family faculty/staff WITH the consent of student;
  • Recognize when the the student's needs are beyond the scope of their capability to provide effective assistance; it is then the tutor's responsibility to refer the student to the appropriate resource - always with the student's knowledge and agreement.
